The Eco Edit

I’ve spent most of my life working as a writer and editor to help make the planet better by sharing stories of progress and solutions. What I’ve discovered over the years (and the last ten of them as a mom) is that there is an intrinsic link between our personal well-being and the well-being of the planet. How can we be expected to make critical and beneficial choices aimed at reducing our impact on the world if our lives at home are in a constant state of upheaval?

With the Eco Edit, I help you create low-impact, efficient organizational systems so you can get — and stay — organized. This makes it easier to get everyone fed and out the door on time and it also helps to free up time so you can the tackle bigger-picture issues for you and the planet.

The path to reducing our impact starts by embracing zero-waste principles at home — and home organization is key.

The Eco Edit:

  • Together, we will identify your organization goals and needs — whether a closet, a kitchen, garage, or the entire house!
  • We’ll find ways to reuse and repurpose items already in your home to support a more organized environment, or we’ll shop for sustainably made organizing alternatives. I do my best to avoid virgin plastic at all costs.
  • Finally, we’ll transform your home into a user-friendly, easy-to-maintain organized time-saving, and space-saving space.

Testimonials

“Jill has been such a pleasure to work with! During our initial consultation we walked through my kitchen, discussing how my family currently uses the space, pain points, and what our priorities are for organization and improvement. She took detailed measurements and notes, and had so many great suggestions and optimizations that I never would have seen myself. Jill followed up with a detailed email including links to the items she recommended for our kitchen organization, and a week later she returned and spent a full day transforming my kitchen cabinets from clutter and chaos to an organized system! I now have full visibility to everything in my cabinets, and a more user-friendly experience in the kitchen. I can already see how this improvement has prevented me from re-purchasing items I already own, and allows me to plan and prepare meals more easily. I highly recommend working with Jill!”

How to get an Eco Edit

  1. Let’s chat! The first step is to identify what your needs are. We can schedule a Zoom call or an in-home visit to assess your goals so we can create a plan and estimate for our services.
  2. Let’s organize: Once we have a plan in place for each of your spaces, we’ll schedule the best time to get to work. You can help by creating purging piles and then leave me to it!
  3. The transformation: After we’ve finished the Eco Edit, I’ll give you the grand tour of your newly organized space and make sure you’re comfortable with everything.
